Hyundai E&C Wins Acclaim at the K-Design Award 2025

Hyundai E&C has further solidified its competitiveness on the international design stage by unveiling differentiated designs in its landscaping and community spaces.

Hyundai E&C announced on Wednesday, November 20th, that it has won the Gold Winner award in the Spatial Design category of the K-Design Award 2025 for ‘Arcus’ at Hillstate Hwanho Park and ‘Triangle House’ at Hillstate Sinyong The River. Hyundai E&C is the only company among all participants this year to have won two Gold Winners in the Spatial Design category simultaneously.

The K-Design Award is considered one of Asia's top three design awards, alongside Taiwan's Golden Pin Design Award and Hong Kong's Design for Asia Awards. As part of efforts to select commercially competitive products, award winners were chosen through a rigorous evaluation by a prestigious panel of more than 37 judges from 10 countries. This year, notably, only 35 of the over 3,000 entries from 23 countries were selected as Gold Winners.

‘Arcus,’ which was selected as a Gold Winner this year, is a two-story tea house built at Hillstate Hwanho Park. Like its name, which means 'a curved shape like a bow or a rainbow,' it implements an arched design to create a soft, curvilinear beauty and a sense of stability. The interior space, where curved and arched elements and furniture blend harmoniously, along with the magnificent atmosphere created by the lofty entrance against the backdrop of a pond and a rock garden, and the line lighting, were all recognized for their high degree of perfection.

The other award-winning work, ‘Triangle House,’ is a three-dimensional space for rest and relaxation located in the central park of the Hillstate Sinyong The River apartment complex. It achieves a harmonious balance with its surroundings by blending its design with the adjacent triangular lawn and floor fountain. Its creative originality and sense of openness were enhanced by applying a structure with a triangular motif and an open design. The triangular pattern lighting on the facade further accentuates its sculptural beauty at night, enhancing the scenic value of the complex.

In addition to these two works, five other works, including a tea house, garden, and interior designs, were selected as Winners, bringing the total number of awards to seven. Among them, ‘Jamitan’ creates a lyrical landscape with a wall fountain, seasonal plantings, and sculptural objects, and ‘House of THE H’ was recognized for the innovation and sustainability of its future-focused residential model.

Hyundai E&C has showcased its considerable capabilities at international design competitions by creating distinctive designs for the landscaping and community spaces of its residential complexes, winning awards at the world's top three design awards (IDEA, iF, Red Dot) and the U.S. Good Design Award.

Recently, during its first foray into the RHS Flower Show Wentworth Woodhouse 2025, organized by the UK's Royal Horticultural Society, the company won a Silver-Gilt medal in the Show Garden category for ‘Garden Whispers,’ a collaborative work with Korea’s Sungkyunkwan University. This marked a significant achievement as Hyundai E&C is the first Korean construction company to win such an accolade at a world-class garden festival.

A Hyundai E&C official commented, “We are truly honored to be recognized for our ability to enrich the human sensory experience through spatial design and for landscaping to serve as a medium that embodies art and sustainability.” The official added, “We remain committed to creating a residential culture that resonates with the emotional and cultural sensibilities of our residents through spatial designs that reflect our brand philosophy.”
