Our top management priority is safety. Hyundai E&C aims to realize “disaster-free construction” by establishing the necessary infrastructure and systems.
Placing safety as the highest priority in corporate management, Hyundai E&C established the “12 Safety Golden Rules of HDEC” to establish a unique internal culture of safety. We obtained the ISO 45001 and KOSHA 18001 certifications to establish a safety and health management system in line with international standards. As such, we operate a systematic safety and health management system for all workplaces. Furthermore, we launched the Hyundai E&C Safety Culture Center to provide practical training on construction safety to our employees and stakeholders. Simultaneously, we enhanced our safety management competitiveness by developing and operating a smart safety management platform based on IT, mobile, and new IoT technology.

HloS :Hyundai IoT Safety System
Hyundai E&C has applied its platform-based safety management system of “Hyundai IoT Safety System (HIoS)” for the first time in the construction industry. HIoS sends information measured with various sensors to a scanner through Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). Then the information is analyzed to determine whether there is risk or not. As the platform which can be interconnected with various future unit technologies, HIoS provides customized safety management service depending on the conditions of individual construction sites.

Hyundai Engineering & Construction is committed to fostering a safety-centric culture through dedicated efforts. Central to these efforts is the Safety Culture Experience Center, designed to enhance the effectiveness of safety education, a cornerstone of our safety management initiatives. This unique facility enables participants to engage firsthand with various risks encountered in both construction sites and everyday scenarios, thereby bolstering their preparedness and response capabilities.

- National safety and health management system
- In November 2004, Hyundai E&C obtained the KOSHA MS certification, a national safety and health management system standard. Based on this, Hyundai E&C is establishing a system that evaluates and minimizes risks by identifying hazards that accompany corporate activities in advance.

- International safety and health management system
- Hyundai E&C originally acquired the international safety and health management system standard of OHSAS 18001 certification in January 2004 from the LRQA in the UK, and completed the transition to ISO45001 in 2019. Based on this, Hyundai E&C is establishing a system that evaluates and minimizes risks by identifying hazards that accompany corporate activities in advance.
