Hyundai E&C announced on the 27th that it ranked No. 1 worldwide in the construction sector in the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Indices (DJ BIC,) announced by S&P Global as part of the Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), one of the world's most prestigious sustainability management assessments.
DJ BIC is the newly restructured assessment index formerly known as the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI). S&P Global selects the top 10% of companies in sustainability performance from among the world's 2,500 largest companies by market capitalization.
Hyundai E&C is the only Korean builder to have been included for 16 consecutive years in all indices categorized by assessment scope: World, Asia Pacific, and Korea. At the same time, the company was selected in the Top 10% of Yearbook 2026, S&P Global's list of companies recognized for excellence in sustainability management, further solidifying its position as a global ESG leader.
Hyundai E&C is strengthening its ESG management framework through initiatives such as △a management system for other indirect emissions (Scope 3); △the establishment of a company-wide ESG IT system; △the expansion of its internal sustainability control system; and △disclosure including ESG data of its subsidiaries.
The company's outstanding ESG management performance has been recognized by major domestic and international rating agencies. Hyundai E&C has maintained an integrated A rating for 8 consecutive years in the assessment by the Korea Institute of Corporate Governance and Sustainability (KCGS). It also received A ratings in the Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) ESG Ratings, used as a global investment indicator, and from Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), earning high marks across all areas of environmental, social, and governance performance.
Going forward, Hyundai E&C plans to further strengthen the trust of global investors and stakeholders by pursuing sustainable growth strategies, including accelerating the transition to renewable energy, developing green technologies, and reinforcing ESG management across its supply chain.
A Hyundai E&C official stated, "This achievement is the result of our company-wide efforts to practice sustainability management, including responding to climate change, implementing safety management, and establishing transparent governance. As a global construction leader, Hyundai E&C will take the lead in achieving carbon neutrality and creating social value, while helping to shape a sustainable future for humanity."
