Hyundai E&C has been selected as a winner at the Red Dot Awards 2025 for its future residential model, ‘House of THE H,’ located within THE H Gallery in Sinsa-dong, Seoul.
The Red Dot Awards are a leading German design competition that has been held since 1955. Each year, prestigious experts in the field of design judge and select products with outstanding designs. This award is considered one of the world's top three design awards, alongside the U.S. IDEA Design Awards and the German iF Design Awards.
‘House of THE H’ is a future-oriented residential model proposed by Hyundai E&C, characterized by its consideration of a healthy and sustainable lifestyle through the fusion of innovative spatial solutions and wellness technology. A pocket terrace inspired by a traditional Korean dwelling (hanok) and adaptable furniture maximize the flexibility of the space while encouraging a sense of emotional well-being among residents.
In addition, the design incorporates Hyundai E&C's exclusive, cutting-edge smart technologies, such as AI-based customized healthcare and a Car-to-Home service that allows residents to control built-in home appliances from their vehicle. The design also embodies the distinctive philosophy and consideration that has come to epitomize THE H by utilizing eco-friendly and recycled materials.
In addition to this Red Dot Award, ‘House of THE H’ has achieved an outstanding milestone, securing a triple crown of awards. It was a finalist at the IDEA Design Awards 2024 and was the only project by a Korean construction company to be named a Gold Winner, ranking in the top 3%, at the Asia Design Prize 2025 (ADP 2025), Asia's largest design award.
With this latest accolade, Hyundai E&C has achieved the remarkable feat of winning one of the world's top three design awards for the fifth consecutive year. The company has consistently recorded wins at the Red Dot, IDEA, and iF design awards from 2021 through 2024, and by earning recognition at the Red Dot Awards again this year, it has once again proven its global competitiveness in the field of residential design.
In addition to the world's top three design awards and the Asia Design Prize, Hyundai E&C has also been recognized in various other competitions, such as Korea’s Good Design (GD) Awards. Another of Hyundai E&C's residential products, the ‘Kitchen Lounge & Up & Down Table,’ won a Bronze Award at the Good Design (GD) Awards 2024. The height-adjustable Up & Down Table maximizes the utility of modest residential spaces, and the Kitchen Lounge, which features this table at its center, has been positively received for expanding the role of the dining area.
Based on this global design competitiveness, Hyundai E&C plans to set new standards for the residential products it will introduce in the future. More specifically, in key projects such as the redevelopment initiative in Seoul’s Apgujeong district, the company is expected to realize both the symbolic and differentiating value of its residential complexes through designs that reflect not only spatial innovation and technological prowess but also the brand's heritage.
A Hyundai E&C official stated, “This award is the result of the company’s exclusive technology and innovative designs, which reflect shifting lifestyles and customer needs, being recognized.” The official added, “We will continue to create sustainable living environments and, at major project sites such as the Apgujeong redevelopment initiative, we will actively reflect Hyundai E&C's unique brand philosophy to continuously offer world-class residential spaces.”
