1 Jongno-gu Creative Education CSR “Fun Smart City” program
Hyundai E&C’s held the Fun Smart City program at Cheongwoon Middle School and Seoul National University Girls’ Middle School located in Jongno-gu between July 5 and 7 as part of Jongno-gu Creative Education CSR program, which was the first educational activity since Hyundai E&C signed an agreement to operate the Creative Education CSR program with Seoul Jungbu District Office of Education, Jongno-gu Office and Hyundai Engineering in June.
The Creative Education CSR program was designed to help first-year students of middle schools in the district get a better understanding of the construction industry and participate in hands-on activities. This program offered educational content best suited to young students through consultations with Hyundai E&C’s researchers on smart city technology. The participants had classes on future cities and smart cities and built up smart cities in their imagination with training aids.
2 Pile driving automatic measurement system introduced
Hyundai E&C’s sets out to introduce the pile driving automatic measurement (PDAM) system to our building and housing construction sites with the aim to preclude workers from involving in accidents and secure quality of pile driving construction.
Because the depth of pile driving is usually measured in a manual way, workers are highly likely to have accidents and often generate errors, making it difficult to manage quality of pile driving construction. To solve the problems, Hyundai E&C reviewed a wide range of related technologies and chose the PDAM system of Woori Technology. Under this system, a special barcode is attached to a drop hammer, and a digital level gauge is used to measure and record the depth of pile driving. The measurement data can be sent to workers, managers and supervisors via Bluetooth and a mobile application in real time. The system makes it possible for users to check the depth of pile driving and the work progress in a prompt way.
