Hyundai E&C introduces untact access management system

23 Jul 2020 1min 17sec

Hyundai E&C will introduce an untact access management system based on infrared thermal sensors and facial recognition to construction sites for the first time in Korea.

The untact access management system refers to the artificial intelligence facial recognition technology with the IoT-based infrared thermal sensors. The biggest advantage of the new system is to promptly check the health conditions and access histories of workers with facial masks on. It enables the unmanned and untact management of workers’ access to the construction sites, which results in improving business productivity. The system can also measure body temperature as well as detect whether workers wear facial masks, contributing to creating a culture of wearing masks in a proper manner.

On top of this, Hyundai E&C plans to add the new untact access management function to HIoS(Hyundai IoT Safety System), Hyundai E&C’s IoT-based platform for safety management at construction sites. HIoS, the first comprehensive safety management platform in the domestic construction industry, features six technologies designed to locate the positions of workers, prevent construction equipment from being jam med, prevent the collision of tower cranes, detect gas concentration and wind velocity, and prevent temporary soil sheathing from collapsing. The addition of the untact access management system using infrared thermal sensors and facial recognition function to HIoS is expected to enable Hyundai E&C to manage safety at our construction sites in a more advanced way.
