Qatar, Home of Festivals Around the World!
Did you know that Hyundai E&C also has a deep history with Qatar?
#National Museum of Qatar
Completed in 2019, the National Museum of Qatar is an atypical building that was globally unprecedented at the time. Hyundai E&C was the first to introduce a three-dimensional building information system (BIM) to create a rose in the desert using more than 70,000 panels.
#Hamad Medical City
Being the largest hospital in Qatar, it is an expansion and renovation of a building once used as an athlete's village and press center during the 2006 Doha Asian Games. Hyundai E&C, which has extensive experience in hospital construction, completed the women's, outpatient, and rehabilitation wards with a high level of design and construction integration engineering expertise, was recognized for its expertise and further engaged to work on the entire interior design of the remaining wards.
#New Doha Hotel(Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel)
This was Hyundai E&C's first project in Qatar. The company built Qatar's first five-star hotel by applying the latest design technology that enabled the construction of a pyramidal facade at the time.
#Lusail Expressway
A large 5.8-kilometer urban expressway connecting central Doha to the Pearl region on the northern man-made island. Since its opening, the expressway has dramatically reduced traffic congestion in downtown Doha.
#Al Bustan Expressway
One of four tools that make up the 13-kilometer Sabah Al Ahmad Corridor, which runs north-south through the capital city of Doha. PSM, one of the off-site construction methods, was applied to improve quality control and reduce time. It was a feat of high technology. The artistry of the U-shaped overpasses closely spaced over the wide stretch of roadway was also recognized.
#Lusail Plaza Towers
Of the four buildings in the Lusail Plaza Towers, Hyundai E&C will construct the two tallest main towers, ranging from 5 stories underground to 70 stories above ground. To construct the skyscrapers, which require high technical expertise, Hyundai E&C utilized a 3D building information modelling (BIM) to reduce the margin of error from the design stage. Currently, the exterior work is being finalized and the final interior work is underway. Hyundai E&C is looking forward to redefining Qatar's skyscraper skyline.
